Hotel SØMA Nuuk is currently seeking an experienced hotel manager who, with competent business management and leadership, will help implement new and existing business strategies, build and train a strong team of dedicated employees, and oversee the daily operations of the hotel in accordance with our values and purpose.
Who are we?
Hotel SØMA Nuuk is a unique and well-managed tourist and conference hotel with 30 employees, 45 rooms, a restaurant, and plenty of activity and guests throughout the year. We set a high standard in hotel service and dining, striving to ensure that all guests experience a piece of Greenland while staying with us.
We are part of Hotel SØMA, Greenland’s oldest hotel chain with over 50 years of history at four different destinations. The Nuuk hotel serves various functions, being the favorite of business travelers, the local community’s living room, and tourism’s gateway to Greenland’s beautiful nature, incredible adventures, and welcoming people. About the position
As our new hotel manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the hotel to unleash its full potential. Your tasks will include:
- Implementing existing strategies and developing new – in collaboration with the COO
- Hiring, training and motivating employees for a high service level and a high pace
- Control the day-to-day management, reception, restaurant, cleaning services and hotel maintenance
- Secure a welcoming atmosphere and a high customer satisfaction
- Create and retain a positive working environment with focus on collaboration
- Secure that the hotels buildings and facilities are compliant to guest expectations and legislation
- Responsibility for budgetting, business economics and debtor follow-up
- Support and retain the hotels Christian foundation, values and purposes
- Plan the hotels activities

Mandatory demands
- You have relevant experience from leadership roles and preferably from the Hotel industry
- You want to experience the amazing life in Greenland and live in the beautiful capital, Nuuk for at least 3 years
- You are able to work and lead employees on the foundation of the organizations Christian values and purpose
